Policy Statement

Physical Plant provides routine custodial services including light dusting of common areas, vacuuming, cleaning of floors and vertical surfaces, removal of waste materials, and provides routine, preventive, emergency maintenance, and certain major repairs for non-residential, non-Food Services University buildings within the operations and maintenance of Physical Plant in the University operating budget. Custodial and maintenance services for residential and Food Services buildings are provided by the Housing and Food Services Zone.

Special custodial services are available upon request, including cleaning before, during and after special events; removal of extraordinary amounts of waste material; and dusting of individual department or office areas. These services are billed to the requesting department at cost for material, labor and overhead. Any extraordinary maintenance requests not falling into these categories will be charged back to the requesting department.
