Applicants for admission

Policy Statement

Decisions on all undergraduate applicants for admission who have not been previously enrolled at SU will be made by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Decisions will be based on student qualifications in accordance with guidance provided by academic deans. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions will issue all official communication pertaining to admission decisions.

Merit-Based Scholarship Decisions – The Office of Undergraduate Admissions will determine recipients of selected merit-based scholarships on an annual basis consistent with funding policies in place each year. Candidates will be determined at the point of admission or appeal prior to enrollment at Syracuse University.

Opportunity Programs Administration and Decision – The Office of Undergraduate Admissions collaborates with opportunity programs both on and off-campus to support access to higher education and determines admissions decisions, coordinating with the Office of Financial Aid and Office of Supportive Services when appropriate.

Representation of Syracuse University to Prospective Students – The Office of Undergraduate Admissions will represent the programs and policies of Syracuse University to prospective students on campus, at the Metropolitan New York Admissions Office in Lubin House, and during domestic and international recruitment travel.

Recruitment Communications

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions produces the print and electronic communications used for recruitment of undergraduate students.
