Policy Statement

EHO maintains a database of non-ionizing radio-frequency (3 kHz – 300 GHz) emission point sources on University owned or operated properties. It is the responsibility of University departments to notify EHO of any procurement, removal or modification of an applicable source (i.e. a transmitter or other FCC licensed radio-frequency source) or the modification of a source’s operating parameter (i.e. frequency, power, location) transmitters and other FCC licensed radio-frequency sources.

All transmitters and other FCC licensed radio-frequency sources must be registered with EHO. EHO must be notified prior to any changes, modification, or additions to these sources or their operating parameters. Exposures from applicable radio-frequency sources must be maintained within acceptable exposure levels in accordance with ANSI’s safety standard for radio-frequency electromagnetic fields (IEEE C95.1) and be operated in a manner that protects University personnel, students, visitors from radio-frequency non-ionizing radiation exposures.
