Policy Statement

The University Vehicle Safety Policy applies to all drivers engaged in the operation of any University owned or leased motor vehicle on all public and private property.

All prospective drivers of University-owned or leased motor vehicles must have a current, valid drivers license; will have their driver’s licenses and driving records reviewed prior to employment and after employment commences in the University’s discretion; and will successfully complete the University’s driver training program.

All full-time, part-time, and student employees who are authorized to drive must have a current, valid driver’s license; be a minimum of 18 years of age; and have a driving record background check performed prior to driving.

All drivers of University motor vehicles must comply with all applicable laws and regulations concerning the operation of motor vehicles.

The University reserves the right to suspend a student or employee driver’s privileges to operate a University motor vehicle at any time, for any reason.
